What we collect,
and why.

Short version: an email address if you give one, the figures you type into the calculator stored without your email beside them, and nothing else. Nothing is ever sold.

What is collected

Your email address, if you ask for the breakdown or buy a product.
The numbers you enter into the calculator — materials, minutes, price — stored anonymously for product research. These records contain no email address and are never joined to one.
Payment details, collected and held by Stripe. They never reach this site and are never visible to us.
Basic technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited — as part of normal web serving and security.

Why

To deliver the product you paid for.
To send the welcome email and occasional emails about the tools. You can unsubscribe from any of them in one click.
To understand how handmade sellers actually structure their costs, so the next tool is built on real data rather than guesses.
To keep the site running and protect it from abuse.

Who processes it

Cloudflare — hosting, security, and storage of anonymised calculator records.
MailerLite — email list and delivery.
Stripe — payments, as merchant of record.
Pinterest — only if you arrive from a pin; their own policy applies to that.

These are technical providers, not partners. Your data is never sold, rented or traded.

How long it is kept

Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Anonymised calculator records are kept for up to one year. Payment records are kept by Stripe under their own retention rules and applicable accounting law.

Your rights

Under the GDPR — and under the CCPA if you are in California — you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to its processing, at any time.

Write to hello@benchandbooks.com. No form, no justification needed. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority; in France that is the CNIL.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies for security and performance. Stripe sets its own cookies on the checkout page, which is hosted by Stripe rather than here.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
